Oltmans: Malaysia were only approaching me

Translated by Hockey-Asia.com

Former national coach and present coach of Laren, Roelant Oltmans was the last days in Malaysia to think about the hockey future of that nation.

On request of the new technical manager of the MHF Oltmans connected himself to a think tank, which should bring Malaysia back to the Olympic level. Although Oltmans had all the chances to give his business card, he estimates his future still with Hockey Club Laren.

The Malaysian newspapers were however very busy by speculating.

Oltmans supposed to be in Kuala Lumpur to sign his contract as national coach. But that wasn’t the case.

I have done several suggestions. Above all my name is mentioned, but also of many other national coaches, Oltmans said.

Besides his job at Laren Oltmans has a part-time position at the NOC/NSF, the Dutch National Olympic Council.

"Unless Malaysia comes with a real unbelievable super offer, then I would not say no on forehand”

Then you think about it, but as the cards are right now, I stay in the Netherlands. I like it here in the Netherlands.

The MHF has their next meeting scheduled on 13th of December.
Then things are clearer about the national coach.

Kuala Lumpur lived on to play in the semi-finals from Group B when play was stopped after the City boys took a 2- 0 lead.
The match was 10 minutes into the second half, and torrential rail caused it to be abandoned in favour of KL who sneaked into the semis on seven points.

RESULTS: Pahang 0 Perlis 1, Kelantan 2 Perak 3; Group B: Malacca 0 Kuala Lumpur 2, Negri Sembilan 3 Terengganu 1.

Oltmans says No to Malaysia

Story Picked from Hockey-Asia.com ....img

LAREN - Trainer Roelant Oltmans I was last weekend in Malaysia for discussions with the MHF.

But the hockey coach says just to stay at Dutch national league club Laren.
Malaysian newspapers announced that the coming of Roelant Oltmans was almost a done deal.

Back in the Netherlands Oltmans denied this. I have spoken to some people over there how they can work to get connected to the World Top

First MHF need to make a plan, after that names can be filled in.
It is not totally this far. “I just stay at Laren, nothing else is raise a matter.”
