Penang the best bet

NEGRI Sembilan will square off against defending cham pions Perak in the semi-finals of the National Under-14 hockey tournament at the Kuantan stadium today.
In the other semi-finals, silver medallists Kuala Lumpur will be up against a top-flight Penang side.
Yesterday, Negri took the last Group match against Malac ca as a warm-up to the semis, and lost 2-1. However, they had already sealed the top spot in Group B a day earlier.
Penang, the only unbeaten team in the tournament, beat Perlis 1-0 with the goal coming in the eighth minute from a penalty corner attempt by Izadi ismail.
On paper, Penang are the early favourites, while the Perak- Negri Sembilan match is expected to go to the wire.
RESULTS: Group A: Penang 1 Perlis 0, Kelantan 5 Pahang 2; Group B: Selangor 6 Terengganu 0, Malacca 2 Negri Sembilan 1.
TODAY: Semi-finals: Penang v Kuala Lumpur (3pm), Negri Sembilan v Perak (5pm).
