MSSM: Stunning start for Perak Girls, Boys..

DEFENDING champions Perak got off to a super start in retaining their Boys’ and Girls’ Under-18 Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) titles at the Bukit Serindit Stadium in Malacca yesterday.
   In the Boys’ Under-18, Perak hammered Perlis 8-1, while the Silverstate girls hit Perlis 3-0 in their opening encounters.
    RESULTS -- Boys’ Under-18: Group A: Perak 8 Perlis 1; Group B: Kuala Lumpur 6 Johor 1, Sabah 4 Putrajaya 0; Group C: Selangor 4 Pahang 0; Group D: Malacca 3 Negri 3.
   TODAY: Group A: Terengganu v Perak; Group B: Sabah v Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya v Johor; Group C: Selangor v Kedah, Pahang v Penang.
   RESULTS -- Girls’ Under-18: Group A: Perak 3 Kedah 0; Group B: Malacca 1 Kelantan 0; Group C: Perlis 1 Kuala Lumpur 5, Selangor 1 Johor 2; Group D: Sabah 1 Pahang 3, Penang 6 Negri 0.

France sneak into Netherlands World League semis..

 
AFTER Japan sealed the title at the Hockey World League Round 2 tournament in Elektrostal, Russia yesterday, the final pieces came in to place for the Hockey World League Semi-Final puzzle.
The Japanese victory means that they will go to Johor, Malaysia for the Hockey World League Semi-Final tournament there, while France is the lucky team to punch their ticket to the Hockey World League Semi-Final in Rotterdam, Netherlands. France earned their berth thanks to being the highest-ranked second-placed team in the last two Hockey World League Round 2 events.
In total, 16 men’s teams will take part in the Hockey World League Semi-Finals with a field of eight squads in both Rotterdam and Johor. The Rotterdam event will kick off the June Semi-Final mania on June 13th, while Johor will begin at the end of the month on June 29.
In addition, 16 women’s teams will also compete in two Hockey World League Semi-Final tournaments with the first being held in conjunction with the men’s tournament in Rotterdam and second beginning on June 22 in London.
