KL edge closer to title

KUALA Lumpur took another step to defend their National Under 16 hockey title when they edged Selangor 2-1 in Sandakan yesterday.
Playing in Group A, Kuala Lumpur were made to sweat for the win, as Selangor controlled much of the match but were unlucky not to have collected full points.
Johor lead the midway standings on seven points after they edged Perlis 1-0. However, Kuala Lumpur have played one less match than the current leaders.
RESULTS: Group A: Kelantan 7 Pahang 1, K. Lumpur 2 Selangor 1, Johor 1 Perlis 0.
TODAY: Group A: Perlis v K. Lumpur (6.30am), Johor v Pahang (8am), Selangor v Singapore (9.30am); Group B: Sarawak v Malacca (11am), Penang v Negri (3pm), Perak v Sabah (4.30pm).
TOMORROW: Group A: Pahang v Selangor (11am), Ke lantan v Singapore (3pm), Johor v Kuala Lumpur (4.30pm).
Group B: Sarawak v Penang (6.30am), Negri Sembilan v Sabah (8am), Malacca v Perak (9.30am).
