TENAGA Nasional will meet Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) in a repeat final of the TNB Cup in the Malaysia Hockey League on Wednesday.
And in the President's Cup, Johor HA will square off against Armed Forces in the final.
For the record, KLHC beat Tenaga Nasional 3-2 in the final last season.
Yesterday, Faizal Saari and Amin Rahim made it count for Tenaga by scoring a brace each to beat Sapura 4-1 for a 5-2 aggregate win.
Faizal, who has scored 20 goals this season, got his field goals in the fifth and 34th minutes, while Amin scored off penalty corners in the 56th and 61st minute.
The Sapura consolation was scored by Jiwa Mohan in the 62nd minute.
In the other TNB Cup semi-finals, KLHC who went in with pitch with a six goal advantage, held Maybank 2-2 for a 8-2 aggregate win.
Hairul Nizam scored for Maybank in the sixth minute, but the goal was quickly cancelled by Ismail Abu in the eighth minute.
Hafifi Hafiz gave Maybank the lead again in the 47th minute, Mohamed Azwar then equalised for KLHC in the 61st minute and the match ended in a 2-2 draw, but KLHC advanced to the final on 8-2 aggregate.
However, Faizal picked up an injury in the match and his appearance in the final is doubtful: "I feel like I pulled a hamstring while attempting a reverse stick shot. But it does not feel too bad and with a tw-day rest, I might just be able to play in the final on Wednesday."
The best player for Tenaga yesterday was their goalkeeper S. Kumar who frustrated Sapura strikers more than six times.
"I had to bring out my best to stop Sapura from scoring (as the first leg score was 1-1) and this gave my strikers more confidence to move up and do the damage.
"It is nice to play in my seventh final of the MHL, and I hope my form will be the same as today to help Tenaga win the TNB Cup," said Kumar who is Asia's best goalkeeper.
