QUEENS Park Rangers not only signed a 5mil pound deal with Park Ji-Sung but also unveiled plans to build a 45,000-seater stadium in West London yesterday.
Their present ground in Loftus Road is the smallest in the Premier League with a capacity of 18,439.
And even though averaging turnouts of 17,000 in their first season back in the Premier League, QPR believe they can fill a bigger stadium.
QPR chairman Tony Fernandes revealed yesterday in London that the club are looking at two potential sites.
"We are not ready to announce the location of the stadium, but are making good progress. It will be 45,000 capacity and we have narrowed it down to two locations," said Fernandes.
Fernandes has been at the helm of QPR for 11 months: "I hope to announce the full details within the next two months as it is not an easy but tremendous work to be completed."
Manchester United winger Park Ji-Sung, 31, also penned a two-year-deal at Loftus Road and now QPR manager Mark Hughes will have a better selection option.
Their other summer signings are Andy Johnson, Robert Green and Ryan Nelsen, which will give QPR plenty of Premier League experience within their ranks.
"I can't wait for him to joing our Asian Tour to Malaysia and Indonesia and so it would be the first time we will see Park playing up close in this region," said Fernandes.
QPR will play Sabah on June 17 and Kelantan on June 20, where Park will make his presence felt for the first time donning QPR colours.
"We have signed sujch an amazing talent and I can't wait to see him in action," added Fernandes.
"I wanted to help QPR in their ambition to rech the next level and that is why I signed with them for two years. There were other offers but money is not important and QPR have also included me in their future plans and that is why I signed with them," said Park.
"He has worn the red shirt with great dignity and I can't wait to work with him because he is a very motivated man and will be a great help to achieve our dreams," said Hughes.
"Park is a significant signing to our ambitions and our intention is not to be at the same position we ended last season, and that is why we have signed a player with Park's capabilities to avoid that at all cost," said Hughes.
