UNIKL Young Guns will square off against SSTMI Thunderbolts for the third straight season to decide who lifts the Milo Cup at the Azlan Shah Stadium tomorrow.
Yesterday, a scrappy UniKL Young Guns were held to a 2-2 draw Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) but booked their final ticket on a 5-3 aggregate.
However, BJSS have only themselves to blame, as they led 2-0 but cave in, in the final 15 minutes.
Division One champions Thunderbolts were the more aggressive side yesterday as they demolished MBI Anderson 10-1, for a 15-3 aggregate win.
UniKL manager Amir Azhar conceded that with 48 hours to the final: “If we play like we did today (yesterday) against Thunderbolts, we will be slaughtered at the Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh.”
The UniKL-BJSS play was centred around midfield, until the 22nd minute penalty corner which was tucked in by Azrul Hasbullah to put BJSS ahead.
BJSS almost drew level in the 25th minute when Zizi Azwan was presented a golden opportunity with only the goalkeeper to beat but he pushed the ball straight into Fitri Jasni.
And BJSS were again rewarded in the 46th minute when Hafif Elkan scored, also off a penalty corner.
However, that attempt goal woke up UniKL and goals from N. Kaatigan (53rd) and Nor Azrul Rahman (58th) were enough to take them into the final, as they had beaten BJSS 3-1 in the first leg.
As for Thunderbolts their goals were scored by Shahril Saabah got his hat-trick in the 40th, 43rd and 54th minutes to take his tally to 18,
The other goals were scored by Firhan Ashaari (25th, 64th and 65th), Hafiz Seleman (2nd, 37th), Sufi Ismat (19th) and Ahmad Alif Nazaruddin (57th).
Akmal Mohd Tajuddin (51st) scored the consolation goal for the Ipoh team.

Three-time Olympians in Korean squad
WORLD No 6 South Korea yesterday named an experienced squad for the Dublin Olympic Qualifier from March 10-18.
Seo Jong Ho, with 265 caps, was aptly named as skipper as he first competed in the Sydney 2000 Olympics at the age of 21 where South Korea went on to win the silver medal.
Jong Ho then played in the Athens Olympics in 2004 where his side ended eighth, while in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he helped his mates stanch the sixth spot.
The three-time Olympian’s inclusion, as well as his Sydney Olympics team-mate Yeo Woon-Kon has added bite to the Korean Qualifier dream.

Dublin Qualifier teams named
By FIH
THE team entries for the six competing teams at the Electric Ireland FIH Road to London tournament were announced today. Competing in the second men’s Olympic Qualification event, which begins next week, will be the national teams from Chile, Ireland, Korea, Malaysia, Russia and the Ukraine.
Korea enters the tournament as not only the highest-ranked team at the event, #6 in the FIH World Ranking, but also the highest ranked men’s team to go through the qualification tournament process for London.
Sure to be pressuring Korea for the berth in London are host Ireland (#16) and Malaysia, weighing in at #13. The duo enters the competition with high hopes. Malaysia most recently finished in fifth place at the Champions Challenge 1 last November in South Africa, while Ireland is hoping that home field advantage will prove to be the difference in the round robin event.
Already the Irish have the attention of the nation as they publically named their team for both the men’s and women’s qualification events today at a well-attended team announcement.
Speaking at the team announcement today men’s head coach Paul Revington emphasized the importance of playing host for the Irish squad saying, “It is a big honour to be hosting this 2012 Olympic Qualification Event and I know this Team will do their best to make Ireland and their fellow Irish Squad mates proud.”
Ranked #20 in the FIH World Ranking, Russia could also be a wild card in the event and is capable of playing to role of spoiler.
The Electric Ireland FIH Road to London tournament will be held from March 10-18 in Dublin. It will start with a six team round robin with the top two teams meeting in a final game to determine the Olympic berth and the remaining teams playing a final placement game for World Ranking points.
The winner of the event will be second squad to qualify to London through the Olympic Qualification tournament. The Indian men won the Hero FIH Road to London tournament at home in Delhi last week. The third, and final, men’s team for the 2012 Olympics will be determined in May at the qualification tournament in Japan.
