Pakistan opener for World League semis..

MALAYSIA wuill open accounts against Pakistan in the World League Semi-finals in Johor Baru on June 29 to July 10.
   The other teams in Malaysia’s group are England and South Africa.
   In Group A are world no 1 Germany, South Korea, Argentina and a yet to be named team, will be confirmed after the end of the Round 2 which will be held in Russia next week.
   Japan and Russia are the early favourites, to battle for the last lot in Johor Baru.
     National coach Paul Revington said: “Even though the group stage will only be a warm-up, every match will be approached with a winning mentality, as we want to qualify for the World Cup in Johor Baru and not wait for the Asia Cup (In Ipoh, Aug 24 to Sept 1).”
    All eight teams progress to the quarter-finals stage, and one win at the last eight will take Malaysia into the World Cup in the Netherlands next year.
    And if they fail, the Ipoh tournament will be their final chance to make the World Cup, which Malaysia  last hosted and played in 2002.
