UniKL plan for comeback...

UNIKL have hit a bad patch in the first round of the TNB Malaysian Hockey League, but harbour hops that things will look up in the Premier Division starting with their match against Maybank today.
    In what is one of their worse starts in the MHL, UniKL have lost all four of their matches thus far - going down to Nur Insafi Perak (2-3), Sapura (1-3), Tenaga Nasional (2-3) and KL Hockey Club (1-8).
   In the 2010/2011 season, UniKL won their opening four matches against Uitm, Yayasan Negri Sembilan, Sapura and Tenaga Nasional and drew the fifth against Maybank before going down 0-4 to KL Hockey Club.
    Last season they drew four, lost two and won one out of their opening six matches and finished fifth in the league.
    “It surely has have not been rosy and we are well aware of the fact that we are sliding further away from being contenders for a place in the semi finals.
   “And with only six matches remaining, we must start collecting points and hope others falter,” said UniKL team manager Amir Azhar Ibrahim.
     Another struggling side, Sapura, are also optimistic of the second round matches: “We are slowly getting our act together and the match against TNB was a case where we gave away the three points rather then TNB winning it it,” said Sapura skipper S. Kuhan.
    Sapura have won two  (against UniKL and Maybank) and lost two (KLHC and TNB) and have six points. And should TNB drop points in the battle of the top two, against KLHC today, then Sapura will be able to narrow the gap  if they beat Nur Insafi Perak.
