MALAYSIA held New Zealand to a 2-2 draw in their fourth friendly in Napier yesterday.
The Black Sticks scored seven minutes into the match with an Andy Hayward penalty corner drag flick variation.
Malaysia equalised in the 19th minute through S. Selvaraju while Amin Rahim converted a penalty corner in the 33rd minute to take the lead.
However, Phil Burrows drew the Kiwis level just before half time.
The second half remaind scoreless. Malaysia lost 3-0, then drew 1-1 and again lost 3-0 in the other matches.
The final match of the series is in Taupo on Sunday.
