Juniors finally win

NATIONAL Juniors notched their first win in the Razak Cup by whipping Armed Forces 7-2 in a Division One match at the Tun Razak Stadium in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Razlee Amree Mustafa was the toast of the Juniors when he scored a hat-trick, all from penalty corner set-pieces, in the 3rd, 23rd and 52nd minutes.
The other goals came from Azreen Rizal Nasir in the 17th minute, Muhd Azammi Adabi (29th), Mohd Fareez Ismail (38th) and Mohd Fitri Abu Bakar (54th).
Armed Forces replied through Zaini Sarip (42nd) and Supri Junoh (46th).
The win was also thier first win under newly appointed coach K. Rajan.
“My charges are gradually gaining confidence and I hope they can maintain their form in the remaining matches,” he said.
Meanwhile, tournament favourites Negri Sembilan fought to a 1-1 draw against Perak.
Negri drew first blood through A.Sasidaran’s penalty corner setpiece in the 12th minute.
However, Perak drew level, two minutes later, off Azli Misron’s penalty corner.
Kuala Lumpur, the current Division leaders on 12 points, plays Armed Forces today and a win will ensure them a spot the final.
RESULTS - Division One: Malacca 2 Johor 1, National Juniors 7 Armed Forces 2, Negri Sembilan 1 Perak 1.
Division Two: Selangor 2 Perlis 1, Police 2 Singapore 4.
Today - Division One: Kuala Lumpur v Armed Forces (4pm), Malacca v Perak (6pm), National Juniors v Negri Sembilan (8pm).
Division Two: Police v Selangor (7.30am), Perlis v Penang (9.15am).
